Student Information

There are many scholarships available to incoming and current KCC students. These scholarships have different criteria and different application procedures. The following list is of current scholarship opportunities at KCC and is provided for your convenience. Please note that all students are encouraged to apply for financial aid and may complete an application online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or visit the KCC Financial Aid office located in the Student Center Building at KCC.

Foundation Scholarships  are available to students with financial need, demonstrated academic achievement and/or special circumstances. Awards are based on number of credit hours for which the student is enrolled and available funds. All applicants must submit a personal statement with this application indicating goals and achievements. KCC employees and their dependents are not eligible to receive scholarships.

Criteria:
  • 2.5 cumulative grade point average
  • Copy of your transcripts
  • Earning first college degree

Gold Key Scholarships  are fully-funded scholarships in the amount of $6,000. Recipients are awarded $2,500 annually for two years with an additional $1,000 available for continuing their educational pursuits after completion of a two-year degree program at Kellogg Community College.

Gold Key
Criteria:
  • 3.2 cumulative grade point average
  • ACT of 20 or higher
  • Leadership experience
  • Fewer than 24 credit hours of college credit completed
  • Available to students within the KCC service district

Walter and Lucille Harper Scholarships are available to Kellogg Community College graduates who will be transferring to a four-year institution of higher learning. 

Walter & Lucille Harper Scholarships
Criteria and Guidelines:
  • Second year KCC student graduating with an associate degree
  • Minimum 3.0 grade point average
  • Applicant must be a citizen of the United States or an eligible non-citizen
  • KCC employees and their dependents are not eligible
  • All awards will be sent directly to the institution for deposit to the recipients student account
Selection:
All scholarship applications are given equal consideration by a scholarship committee appointed by the KCC Foundation Board of Directors.

Trustee Scholarships  are available to graduating high school seniors within the KCC district. The award equals the cost of tuition and fees for four semesters, to a maximum of 64 credits at KCC. One Trustee Scholarship will be awarded at each of the following schools: Albion, Athens, Battle Creek Academy, Battle Creek Central, Calhoun Christian School, Harper Creek, Homer, Lakeview, Marshall, Pennfield, Tekonsha, St. Philip Catholic Central and Union City.

Criteria:
  • You must be in the top 20% of your graduating class and have at least a 3.0 gpa

Deadline: Check with your high school counseling office.

Arts and Communication Departmental Scholarships are available based on skill and performance in voice and instrumental music. Please call the Arts and Communication Department for information on deadlines and application procedures at (269) 965-3931 extension 2566.


 
Athletic Scholarships are available by calling the KCC Athletic Department at (269) 965-3931 extension 2529.

 
Kellogg Company Careers Scholarships  are provided to Kellogg Community College students majoring in Accounting, Business Management, or Human Resources Management. Five scholarships will be awarded to full-time students showing academic promise and leadership potential. The scholarships demonstrate the Kellogg Company’s commitment to recognizing and encouraging talented students while also preparing them for corporate work and leadership in the local Battle Creek community. Students successfully completing academic degree requirements and the internship component may be considered for co-op experience or regular employment with the Kellogg Company.

Kellogg Company Careers Scholarships are fully funded scholarships up to $6,000. Recipients are awarded up to $3,000 annually for two years while attending Kellogg Community College.

Kellogg Company Careers Scholars are selected by a joint committee comprised of Kellogg Company and Kellogg Community College professionals. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement and leadership potential. Financial need will be considered as a criterion for Kellogg Company Careers Scholarships but will not be a major factor. Preference in awarding these scholarships will be given to candidates who are American Indian/Alaska Native, African American, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American.

The selection committee will examine the applicant’s academic records and other evidence of leadership and extracurricular involvement. Finalists will be expected to appear for a personal interview with the selection committee.

Kellogg Company Careers Scholarship
Criteria:
  • Citizen/legal permanent resident or national of the United States
  • Resident of the greater Battle Creek area
  • Cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.00 scale (unweighted)
  • Will be entering or have been admitted as full-time degree seeking students at Kellogg Community College
  • Have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities
  • Will be pursuing and completing an associate’s degree in Accounting or Business Management
  • Have fewer than 24 credit hours of college credit completed.
How to Apply:
  • Complete the Kellogg Company Careers Scholarship Application Form
  • Attach a transcript of grades (official high school/college transcript)
  • Submit a personal statement (min. 250 words) indicating your future aspirations (educational, career and personal goals)
  • Submit three (3) written recommendations (counselor, teacher, community leader, etc.)
  • Mail all materials to:
